On Tuesday I had a my weekly midwife appt (I was 39 weeks and 4 days). I wasn't very dilated yet, so she stripped my membranes to hopefully help get things going. After that we went to Steak N Shake for lunch and then went to Meijer to go grocery shopping. Once we got home we did a few things to try and get labor going but nothing seemed to work. So Corey took me to my moms house because I didn't want to stay at our house, the drive is on a country road with lots of bumps.
32 weeks
That night I felt a little off, but figured it was nothing, so I just went to bed. When I woke up the next morning (around 8:30am) I was having mild contractions and my water was leaking! I was so excited to finally be in labor. I called Corey so he could come get me and take us to the hospital and I called my mom to come home from work and watch Eloise for us.
My contractions were still very mild but since my water was leaking we went ahead and drove to the hospital, which is about an hour from where we live. When we got there we checked into L&D but had to wait a little bit because there was some sort of emergency going on at the time.
Once they checked me in triage and confirmed that I was actually in labor they moved me to a room! We called family to keep everyone updated and my Aunt went to watch Eloise for us so that my mom could come be at the hospital with me. (this was around 11am) I wanted to try and go without an epidural but the contractions got too intense and I gave in and got one anyways... An hour later they checked me again and I was ready to push, woohoo!!!
The nurses got everything all setup and my midwife came in. My water was bulging and as soon as she touched the baby's head my water broke. A few pushes and less than ten minutes later our baby girl arrived! She was perfect and we were instantly in love. Her sweet little nose was crooked but it was just from the way she was laying in-utero and would straighten out on it's own over time.
We called everyone to tell them she was here and my Aunt and Uncle were bringing Eloise up to meet her new baby sister. We got to bond with her in the labor room for a bit before they moved me to a recovery room. We ordered LaRosa's for dinner because Corey and I were both starving!
Eloise was so excited to meet her new sister!
Once everyone left for the night it was just us and our sweet new baby girl. She nursed wonderfully! She slept in bed with me because it was the only way she would sleep and mama was tired! The next day my mom brought Eloise up again and they got to stay with me in the hospital that night since Daddy had to work nightshift. That little hospital bed was awfully crowded with Eloise, Beatrix, and me all sleeping in it. <3
The next morning Corey came back up after he got off work. He really confused the nurse when their was a man sleeping in the bed instead of me! I was recovering really well and was up and about already, a nice change from how I felt after Eloise was born. We got to go home that afternoon and stopped at McDonalds on the way home to grab some lunch.

- 9mo checkup stats- 18lb 6oz 28" 17.5"head
- 10mo old says "no no"
- August 13, 2011 Beatrix said "soso" aka sophie
- September 19, 2011 - took first steps on her own!
- September 28, 2011 - stood up on her own without pulling on anything.
- 12 mo stats- 20lbs 15oz 30in long 18 1/4" head circumference
- 13mo can now say: no, thanks, what's that, mine.
- December 16, 2011- last day bf'ing :(
April 2012- says I love you
June 11, 2012 20mo checkup 23lbs and 32 3/4" long
